Recover
Sustainable recycled fibres to promote a circular economy within the fashion industry.
Every year, 48 Million Tonnes of clothing are thrown away, with over 70% ending up in landfills or incinerators. Less than 1% are recycled into new clothes.
Recover™ transforms textile waste into sustainable recycled fibres, closing the loop on fashion. The aim of this is to promote a circular economy within the fashion industry.
Recover™ is a leading materials science company and global producer of low-impact, high-quality recycled cotton fibre and fibre blends.
What they produce:
fibre made from unblended recycled cotton fibre, suitable for overdyeing, using minimal solvents and water.
Recycled cotton fibres which are blended with other carriers' fibres that have been low impact dyed to create new fibres, in a full spectrum of unique colours and at the lowest environmental cost.
Furthermore, Recover uses:
14,740 litres of water less
56KwH less power
23KG less of CO2
In their production process than their competitors.
Transparency
They believe transparency is the principal driver of change in the industry. Recover™ measures and reports on the environmental performance and social compliance of its fibre products and facilities. All claims are supported by third-party certifications and standards as well as studies that Recover™ has conducted using the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) methodology. Recover™ uses Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification - the current industry standard for tracing recycled content - to ensure traceability of recycled content from the waste suppliers up to the final product.
