1PointFive
1PointFive was formed to help curb the rise in global temperatures to 1.5°C by commercialising Carbon Engineering's Direct Air Capture technology alongside other CCUS solutions at an industrial scale
1PointFive is a company specialising in Direct Air Capture and underground storage. They plan to build one of the largest DAC facilities in the world as well as a series of sequestration hubs.
Similar to Climeworks (DAC) and Carbfic (storage), they aim to permanently remove CO₂ from the atmosphere, storing it in deep geological reservoirs.
The company aims to deploy a hub-based model, whereby ussers can share their carbon storage infrastructure in order to "streamline the practical management of captured CO₂.". They are aiming for the capacity to sequester 3,000,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
As well as their DAC facilities, their infrastructure will include a transportation pipeline for captured CO₂ from industry, a CO₂ treating facility, 3 or more injection wells for long term carbon storage.
